In comparison to when the game had its debut, it definitely has worn off. 900k players were at the start of it, now there are around 80k active left, gradually decreasing as most of them finish the game or lose interest. At that point I wouldn't call it hype anymore. Sure, the playerbase is high and lore video creators will have their bread for the next four years, but in a few months it's gonna be quieter in everyone's circles. ... Except in ER communities.

Today they updated the game to it's 2nd seasons, like Fortnite the map gets changes with every season, there is also a new champion now. It's a game you rather play every now and then, nothing on a constant basis.

@Alserator Look at the bright side of it, Fortnite is collecting the kids and keeps them away from your beloved multiplayer games more than any game ever could. Fortnite is like a kindergarten for people who wanna enjoy their ''free time'' from that audience.

Fortnite can be fun with friends, but the interactions and what we do with them themselves are more entertaining than the game.

I played the Alpha 17 though, the optimization is still bothersome but way better than Alpha 16's
