9th Dawn Remake and The Book of Nameless are available now on Steam

9th Dawn Remake and its companion novel The Book of Nameless are launching today on Steam.

Play with a friend with online co-op or 2-player local co-op. Explore and do battle in first-person for the first time, go (hardcore) fishing, revisit favorite locations, raise pets to fight alongside you, enjoy a deck-building card game… The sky's the limit!

The Book of Nameless – a 170-page work by author L.R. Gaunt – is now available as paid DLC or bundled with the game at a discount. Set 100 years before the events of 9th Dawn, the book takes readers alongside Fen Greenbelt and Rena the Teamaster as they battle dragons, goblins, and unknown forces to save the kingdom of Montelorne. Keep your eyes peeled for some never-before-seen storylines ...

Developer Quote

“I’m super proud of this one. 9th Dawn Remake is the game I wish I had made all those years ago, a proper start to the 9th Dawn saga. This release is special in many ways ... starting with the addition of online co-op. This was a real challenge, and I’m sure fans will appreciate it. Also, there is now an official 9th Dawn novel that is basically a prequel to the whole series. I had a lot of fun collaborating with author L.R. Gaunt and can’t wait to hear what fans think!”

More Than a New Coat of Paint

Like the original game, 9th Dawn Remake is a truly massive open world RPG – where dedicated (and curious!) players can spend 200+ hours completing the main and side quests, collecting rare loot, and raising monster pets. Bursting at the seams with dungeon-crawling hijinks, 9th Dawn Remake lovingly riffs on the original 9th Dawn game – revamping the combat and streamlining quests to deliver a novel, exhilarating 9th Dawn experience. The game has also been localized into French, Spanish, German, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese!

9th Dawn Remake – New Features

  • New 2.5D graphics

  • Completely remade dungeons with bigger maps

  • Sprites cleaned and reworked with improved animation

  • Rewritten story and quests

  • Online and 2-player local co-op

  • Combat replaced with more fluid, action-based gameplay

  • First-person mode added

  • Two big mini-games included: Fishing Survivors, a bullet-heaven fishing game – and Deck Rock, a deck-building card game

In the comedic fishing mini-game Fishing Survivors, the amount of fish players defeat directly affects the fishing yield – making for a fun time with the fishies. Fishing Survivors also features a number of different missions that are locked behind overworld map exploration – along with a couple of extra worm warriors to unlock.

Players can also enjoy Deck Rock – a deck-building card mini-game that was inspired by Slay the Spire and Roguebook. Taking control of medieval paper champions, players are tasked with beating game dungeons using the maps found in the main campaign. This turn-based strategy game provides countless hours of fun while players unlock all cards, level up paper champions, and complete dungeons.
