Mori is an 18-year-old feisty fox spirit who has been living in a shrine hidden in the mountains with the Divine Fox since she was born. She has little knowledge of the humans and is curious to learn more about them.
The Divine Fox appears to be around 25, although her actual age is a mystery. She is a dignified fox spirit with godlike powers but lacks the ability to show that she cares for Mori while living with her and bringing her up. Perhaps the Divine Fox has seen much of the world, which could explain her reclusive nature.
